Transportial API Fair Use Policy
Transportial is committed to providing reliable API services to all users. This Fair Use Policy (the “Policy”) outlines acceptable usage practices for the Transportial API. This Policy aims to prevent misuse, ensure equitable access, and protect the stability of our services. By using the Transportial API, you agree to comply with this Policy.
1. Purpose of the Policy
The Policy is designed to ensure fair access to the Transportial API by preventing excessive usage and abusive practices that may impact other users. Transportial reserves the right to update or modify this Policy at any time.
2. Acceptable Usage
Users are expected to:
- Use the API within reasonable limits, as defined by Transportial’s rate limits.
- Use the API only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the API documentation.
- Access the API through secure and legitimate means, following any authentication protocols set forth by Transportial.
3. Prohibited Activities
To maintain equitable and reliable access for all users, the following actions are prohibited:
- Excessive Requests: Repeatedly making requests in a way that exceeds rate limits or otherwise imposes undue burden on the API infrastructure.
- Data Scraping or Harvesting: Extracting data at a scale beyond the intended scope or without permission, particularly for the purpose of resale or redistribution.
- Circumventing Rate Limits: Using methods to bypass or work around established rate limits or access restrictions.
- Abusive Behavior: Engaging in any behavior that degrades the API performance, including but not limited to denial-of-service attacks or sending malicious payloads.
4. Rate Limits and Throttling
Transportial enforces rate limits to ensure fair use of the API. Rate limits are defined per endpoint and are subject to change based on user feedback and system requirements. Details of current rate limits can be found in the API documentation. Attempts to circumvent these limits are strictly prohibited.
5. Automated Access
Automated access to the API (e.g., bots, scripts) is permitted within the boundaries of this Policy and rate limits. Automated access that results in excessive requests or bypasses restrictions is prohibited.
6. Usage Monitoring
Transportial monitors API usage to ensure compliance with this Policy. Users agree that Transportial may take measures to enforce fair use, including but not limited to, throttling access, limiting request volume, or suspending accounts that engage in prohibited activities.
7. Consequences of Violation
Violation of this Policy may result in:
- Temporary suspension or throttling of API access.
- Permanent revocation of access to the API.
- Additional penalties, including legal action, for severe or repeated violations.
Transportial will make reasonable efforts to notify users of violations and provide an opportunity to rectify their usage before applying permanent restrictions.
8. Appeal Process
If you believe your API access was limited or suspended in error, you may contact Transportial Support at developers@transportial.com to request a review. Transportial will evaluate appeals on a case-by-case basis.
9. Changes to the Policy
Transportial reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time. Changes to the Policy will be effective immediately upon posting on the Transportial website or API documentation page.
